Borderlands, Latino America, and Aztlan

In the film, Tambien la lluvia, (Even the Rain), a film crew from Mexico and Spain is in Bolivia producing a historical movie about Columbus and his encounter with indigenous peoples. While filming In Cochabamba, members of the film crew become involved with indigenous people demonstrating and protesting against laws restricting community access to water. What are your impressions about the representation of the indigenous peoples in the film?
Some of the foreseeable issues I perceive about the movie include, Heterogeneity, political correctness, euro centrism and the other… It might help to consider analogous situations of problematic representations.
