Using popular music in accessibility to the average person

After watching these two ballet set to popular music, what are your thoughts on ballet being performed to popular music verses classical music?  Do you think that using popular music makes ballet more accessible to the average person?  Do you think that setting ballet choreography to popular music makes it less of an art? Do you think that hearing the music for ballet is an important factor/part? Why or why not?
